The
aim of our stud is to breed compact, highly fertile cattle
with good temperaments and “good doing” ability.
Because the stud is situated in an area where winters are
harsh, -7 degrees below zero in winter and up to 40 degrees
in summer, the cattle need to be able to thrive in harsh conditions.
In
winter, hand feeding takes place on average for about 3 months
and in summer, feed in the paddock dries off rapidly, soon
after spring concludes. Cattle that do not thrive in these
conditions are sold for slaughter.
