The aim of our stud is to breed compact, highly fertile cattle with good temperaments and “good doing” ability. Because the stud is situated in an area where winters are harsh, -7 degrees below zero in winter and up to 40 degrees in summer, the cattle need to be able to thrive in harsh conditions.

In winter, hand feeding takes place on average for about 3 months and in summer, feed in the paddock dries off rapidly, soon after spring concludes. Cattle that do not thrive in these conditions are sold for slaughter.

Our cattle have been developed with the commercial market in mind. They are on the larger side as far as lowlines are concerned, with fully matured bulls weighing around 640 kilos to about 680 kilos.

Our herd is based on foundation bulls, Trangie K208 and Trangie K085. They were half brothers. We purchased Trangie K085 from the final dispersal sale at Trangie Research Station in 1993 and K208 was purchased a few years later. Both of these bulls had excellent conformation and temperaments. In recent years we have introduced two new bulls.

Elandra Park Umph from the Trangie J251 line and Trungley Prince Laramar. Semen from K085 and K208 is still available to selected clients. All bulls are Genestar tested. Our most influential dams have been Trangie J166, Trangie N352 and Trangie L113.

Our stud is open for inspection by appointment. If you would like to visit our stud please contact us by phone or email.
